JFL CANDY STRIPER VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center is please to announce that the application for the Candy Stripers Volunteer Program is now available online. The goal of the program is to provide positive, energetic students (ages 14-18) who are interested in healthcare with an environment and an opportunity to learn, help others, build friendships, and give back. The Candy Stripers Volunteers also help to make the hospital a little happier and friendlier.
Acceptance into the program is contingent upon the completion of the following steps:
- Must be at least 14yrs old by the date of Orientation
- Completed Online Application
- Health Screening by JFL Employee Health Service
- Immunization records (Current PPD) need to be provided at screening for successful clearance
- 2 Letter of Recommendation (Teacher, Guidance Counselor, Employer, Leader of an Organization the student is involved in, etc) brought in with application.
- One – page essay outlining interest in the healthcare field
HEALTHSTREAM LINK FOR JFL TEAM MEMBERS
HealthStream is an online learning Healthcare System that supports organizations in addressing the growing challenges and new requirements associated with measuring and developing staff competencies. The Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital & Medical Center has partnered with HealthStream to provide such services through the HealthStream Learning Center. With access from work or home, team members will be able to complete courses that meet all regulatory requirements and enroll in courses that are of interest to them. It is ultimately designed to build JFL team member’s competency, skills and performance.
